Developers told to build “Glassware” with Android SDK

Google has issued a statement saying that developers can develop apps for Glass, “Glassware”, using the Android SDK while Google still develops the Glass development kit. Google glass runs on Android 4.04 API level 15, which allows developers to access a variety of APIs which they didn’t have access with using the Mirror API. Google also has posted a few sample apps to get developers started.

Google hasn’t given a release date for the GDK (Glass development kit), but they hope to release Glass by 2014 so it safe to assume that it will ship before then.
